Introduction

Cloud was once considered to be the space where Devas in Hindu mythology used to live. Traversing through clouds in an airplane do give us some good feeling, at least on our maiden flight, but today have we ever realized all of us traverse through clouds throughout the passage of sun from east to west and backward ???

Seems strange but indeed that’s truth. Everyone might be recalling a phrase “on cloud nine” by these words. Indeed social networking helps us to reach cloud nine by conversing with our near and dear ones but then again buzz word today is cloud, even all proposals made on virtual platforms are on cloud.

Have you ever realized where do the photos you upload go??? Where does all your mails get saved?? How does all your data reach you despite you being away from your office??

With elevation of “Cloud Boy”, Indian origin, Satya Nadella as CEO of software conglomerate Microsoft, debate on cloud capabilities and dependency over same has further received a torque. Even the largest company Apple (by market capital) is a pioneer in this space.

Indeed total cloud storage book Google Chromebook, where entire OS is on cloud has been launched. Be it windows, or iOS, they are relying highly on cloud. $180 billion is expected cloud service market by 2015, where out of every 10 IT companies, 7 would move on cloud for their new applications.

Need for Change

But what is so amazing that is leading to such massive and huge success of these “aired” services. Let us peep into the world where cloud can prove to be a boon. India faces faculty crunch, what if video lectures are online and people in remote areas view them and get a glimpse of outside world? Just think you don’t need to carry anything to office, your entire PC ‘s data is on cloud, you go anywhere in world and access it? With office space rent getting dearer, training cost of company has become a burden. What if entire training is given by software on cloud that interacts real time?

A Solution for One and All

The training cost can be curbed easily if some software is developed and placed over cloud. No need to call any employee to office space, give a preliminary training on cloud wherever the employee is and then call a semi prepared employee to the space. Today a large pizza chain employs the same strategy, their front office staff is being trained by such systems. Insurance agents can be made to learn the ways by which they should treat their customers. Use of technology for lower cadre staff can be made to learn via such learning management systems (LMS), further restricting the need of staff to train them, which again saves trainer cost. Even basic law can be taught to employees so that they may understand their work implications. Every organization has some work culture, for any new employee it takes time to get accustomed to it, why not use a LMS to centralize the training sessions and give employee a virtual training prior to his joining that would help in increasing the effectiveness and efficiency right from day one.

Interactive modules are indeed engaging. Even car driving is first being taught on real time simulations being conducted at some place using technology. The same if replicated in office space can turn out to be a huge transformation in monetary terms.

Trainer+ travel cost+ accommodation+ salary+ allowances+ human efficiency+ infrastructure cost+ quality crunch + biases+ nepotism+ unfair means = solved by just one solution, Learning Management Systems, which would mitigate all the cost involved along with other add on costs.

Cloud + Learning management solutions can thus be termed as future of business training.
